How Our Chicken is Different
We raise our chickens outside on living pastures, where they spend their days scratching, pecking, and foraging the way chickens should.
Their diet starts with certified organic Montana-grown feed and ends with grasses, seeds, insects, sunshine, and movement.
The result is a bird that cooks differently and tastes better. You can see the difference, too.
Firmer texture. Richer flavor. Crispy skin. Deep golden broth.
The kind of chicken that fills the kitchen with nostalgic aromas while it roasts. The kind that leaves behind rich drippings worth turning into gravy. The kind that makes stock so flavorful you notice it immediately.
This isn’t the soft, watery chicken most people have had to settle for.
Roast one and you’ll understand. The skin crackles. The meat holds together. The flavor is deeper, cleaner, and unmistakably real.
Pricing & Bird Sizes
Our pastured chickens naturally vary slightly in size. Rather than selling by the pound we offer a flat rate price for each 1 lb. size range. This keeps the math simple for everyone.
Most birds fall within the 4–6 lb. range.
FAQs
Are the chickens frozen?
Yes. All chickens are delivered frozen and shrink bagged for best long-term quality and freezer storage.
What do the chickens eat?
Our birds receive certified organic Montana-grown feed daily while living outdoors on pasture, where they also forage grasses, seeds, and insects naturally.
Why does your chicken look different?
Pastured chickens develop firmer muscle texture, richer color, and less retained water than conventional grocery store chicken.
Most customers notice the difference immediately when cooking.
How many chickens should I reserve?
Many customers reserve enough birds to last through fall and winter.
It’s common for returning customers to reserve 10–50 birds at a time depending on freezer space and family size.
Do you offer chicken parts?
At this time, we primarily sell whole birds, along with limited quantities of chicken liver and feet.
Where do you deliver?
We offer FREE local home delivery from Missoula to Darby every Tuesday and Thursday.
Are reservation deposits refundable?
Yes. Reservation deposits are fully refundable. Just let us know before delivery and we'll refund your money.

Quality You Can Taste in Every Bite!
What can I say? I’ve been a customer of Graze & Roam for quite some time now, and I’ll continue to be a customer for years to come. I’ve purchased everything from chickens and pork to steaks, all kinds of beef cuts, hot dogs, beef sticks, summer sausage, brisket—you name it! And every single product has been nothing short of exceptional.
The flavor and quality are incredible, and you can truly taste the care that goes into what they do. Every bite is a reminder of just how different locally raised, high-quality meat can be.
And it’s not just the products that make Graze & Roam so wonderful—their customer service is exceptional, too. Having everything delivered right to my door is something I appreciate more than I can say, and they consistently go above and beyond for their customers.
One of the things I value most is knowing exactly where my food comes from and how it’s raised. Knowing that the animals are raised locally in the Bitterroot Valley, are free-range, and raised without antibiotics gives me so much peace of mind about what I’m feeding my family.
If you have the opportunity to try Graze & Roam, do it! You absolutely will not regret it. I couldn’t recommend them more highly, and I’m so grateful to have a local business producing such incredible food right here in the Bitterroot Valley. I’m a customer for life!
